ANH3 Company FAQ

Have a question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • What makes your Super Cool heat exchange systems better than others on the market now?

Efficiency is what sets them apart. Our NH3 heat exchange systems are designed to use as little as one-tenth of the ammonia for cooling as our competitors do, leading to better accuracy. Generally, no product reaches the ground through the coolant exhaust lines. Our Super Cool systems use a fully fused stainless steel heat exchanger. There are no O-rings or seals to leak and they will never need to be rebuilt.

  • Are Super Cool systems adaptable to different application requirements?

Yes, Super Cool NH3 control systems are built to meet the customer’s overall needs. In the field, operators can make simple adjustments to the system as their application requirements change.

  • What are the options for row-to-row monitoring?

We offer simple mechanical gauge trees for monitoring individual rows with our NH3 monitoring system. We also have an electronic full system monitor, Equa Row.

  • What are the benefits of electronic over mechanical (gauge) monitoring?

With Equa Row, you have easy-to-use in-cab diagnostics on virtually every function of your NH3 pump system, not just the rows. By using a combination of pressure and temperature sensors, you will have real-time knowledge of exactly how your system is performing. From product flow through the system, to how much cooling is taking place, to row inconsistencies, Equa Row monitors it.

  • What are the advantages of ANH3’s Equa Row over other brands' monitoring systems?

Our competitors rely solely on temperature fluctuations to monitor only the rows. We use a combination of pressure and temperature to monitor the system as a whole, from inlet feed to the soil. By utilizing pressure to monitor flow, you get instantaneous results rather than temperature that takes a little longer to adjust to changes. We use temperature sensors to monitor how much the system is cooling to prevent wasting ammonia in the cooling process. It also helps to avoid not cooling enough. This can lead to excessive gas build-up in the system and inaccurate information coming from the rate controller. Call us today to learn more about our NH3 monitoring system.

  • What are Smart Valves?

Smart Valves are rate control and section shutoff valves all in one.  Central control valves leave a lot of open volume behind the control point. This leads to a lot of open areas where gas can build. By moving the control point out to the section manifold, you’ll be keeping the product in a liquid state out to the point of row distribution. This helps to keep row-to-row accuracy at its best. Contact us today to learn more about our NH3 control systems

  • What are the advantages of having Smart Valves?

Smart Valves communicate with each other and the rate controller. This ability lets each valve function independently and as a group to provide distribution through each section with uniformity not achievable by standard manifolds. A high level of accuracy is maintained even as sections are turned on and off. As sections either shut off or turn on, the remaining sections compensate for the changes in flow. • Do you offer conventional NH3 application equipment?

Yes, we have standard section manifolds that feature KZ® valves and CDS John Blue Impellicones®. Our standard heat exchangers come ready to mount and can be purchased as single or dual cooler models. These models feature Continental® heat exchangers, KZ® valves, and Micro-Trak® flow meters.
